Success Stories
She is energetic, feels and looks sexy and has her life back.
It was a desperate situation when every time she was invited out with friends for a meal, she would drive past McDonalds and fill up on Big Mac, Fries and a thick shake – so as not to eat as much when at the restaurant with friends. This became her coping mechanism in social scenarios. After a while she stopped socialising altogether and lost many friends. She turned into a hermit and only ever invited her equally obese friend over for movie nights where they sought refuge in one another, eating their favourite foods together knowing they would never judge each other.
Her weekly food bill skyrocketed. She was spending $140 on grocery shopping for the family and an additional $190 plus on junk food to feed her addiction.
The guilt, the secrets and the lies Kylie lived with every day to feed her morbid relationship with food ruined the relationships dear to her. She drove the love of her life and the father of her children away, not understanding how he could stand by her and stand to be with her. She was so depressed, she lost all sense of pride and self respect and resorted to anti-depressants that made her so lethargic, she could barely interact with her children.
After about 3 years of living this way, it took looking at a simple photo of herself with her beloved family to make her realise just how large she had become. Seeing this photo of herself, innocently standing next to an enormous cartoon character at a local shopping centre and the seeing that she was larger than the character, was horrifying.
‘After my father suffered a fatal heart attack at 49yo, I knew it was time to change.’
Kylie’s father sadly passed away from a weight related heart attack at the young age of 49. At 28YO, Kylie knew she was headed in the same direction when she started experience chest pains and numbness of the arms. An emotional confrontation with her mother who exclaimed ‘I don’t want to look after your children. I want you to be around for them and I don’t want to lose someone else’ was the tipping point.
The very next day, Kylie’s Nan visited from interstate and bought with her some Optislim shakes. Her Nan had gained an unwanted 10kg that she was on the way to losing. Kylie immediately thought that if Nan can do it aged 76, she could too.
She purchased some boxes of Optislim from her local pharmacy and began a journey that was extremely challenging and very difficult at times. After she lost the first 10kg she started going for regular walks and began telling her friends. Whenever she felt she was slipping she would look at that photo stuck on the fridge and would be motivated to keep going. That was in Feb 2009.
Today, Kylie has reconciled with her partner and family. She is energetic, feels and looks sexy and has her life back. She now works and is able to take the kids swimming and for plays in the park.
When she looks in the mirror, she likes what she sees. She has regained self pride and is living life.
Kylie attributes her successful weight loss to the affordability and wonderful taste of the Optislim shakes.
